When Clooney is in Berlin, nothing else matters

George Clooney on his part in “Hail, Caesar!”: “I didn’t think I was going to be this stupid”.

The Berlin Film Festival has opened with the Cohen brothers’ “Hail, Caesar!”, a comedy about 1950’s Hollywood. Clooney’s co-stars Tilda Swinton, Josh Brolin and Channing Tatum were also on the red carpet.

  1. Clooney has met Angela Merkel today, because he wanted to support her migration policy. The meeting took nearly 40 minutes what is really long, while even some state-guests just get 20-30 minutes. This shows clearly that the Berlinale is also a political event (like in the past) and not just some kind of mainstream-amusement.

    • Exactly. It’s a good thing that he went to the chancellery. Although I read all kinds of stupid comments on social media, like “I’m also dealing with migrants and nobody invited me there”:-)
